Last updated: September 10, 2026

Very, Really ("Very, Really," "we," "us," or "our") operates veryreally.com (the "Site") and provides home care staffing and coordination services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Site, submitting an inquiry, applying to work with us, or using our staff portal, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to three groups of people: (a) visitors to our public Site, including families or individuals who contact us about care services; (b) applicants who apply to work as a caregiver with Very, Really; and (c) staff members we employ or engage, who use our internal staff portal to view schedules, clock in and out, submit timesheets, and communicate with our team.

Very, Really is a home care agency — we directly employ or engage our own caregivers to serve client families. We are not an open marketplace connecting independent caregivers and families, and this Policy should be read with that in mind.

2. Information We Collect

Contact and inquiry information. If you use our "Contact Us" form, we collect your name, contact information (phone or email), and the content of your message.

Job application information. If you use our "Join Us" form to apply to work with us, we collect your name, contact information, LinkedIn profile (if provided), and any resume file you upload.

Staff account information. If you are hired or engaged as a caregiver or staff member, we collect information needed to manage your employment and pay you, including your name, address, phone number, email, Social Security number, bank routing and account information, hourly rate of pay, an optional profile photo, and a password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never store your password in plain text).

Timesheet and location information. When you clock in or out through the staff portal, we record the time and, if you grant permission, the GPS location of your device at that moment, so shifts can be verified. We also record schedule assignments, submitted timesheets, and hours worked.

Communications. If you use the in-app chat to communicate with our team, we store those messages.

Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our servers automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request, for security and troubleshooting purposes.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to: respond to inquiries from prospective clients; evaluate job applications; create and manage staff accounts; schedule shifts and process payroll; verify that scheduled shifts were worked; enable communication between staff and administrators; maintain the security and integrity of the Site and staff portal; and comply with our legal and tax obligations as an employer.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Background Checks

As part of our hiring process, we may obtain background checks on caregiver applicants and staff, which may include criminal history and other screening permitted by law. Where required, these checks are performed by a third-party consumer reporting agency and are subject to the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state law. If you apply to work with us, you will be asked to separately authorize any background check before it is performed.

5. Cookies

We use a single functional cookie to keep you securely logged in to the staff portal. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies on the Site. If that changes in the future, we will update this Policy.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Site and staff portal, such as our web hosting provider and, where applicable, a background check provider — under agreements that limit their use of your information to providing services to us.
  • Legal and safety purposes — where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect the safety of our staff, clients, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if Very, Really is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent — for any other purpose you specifically approve.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted password storage and access controls limiting who can view sensitive information such as Social Security numbers and bank details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal and tax obligations (including payroll recordkeeping requirements), and resolve disputes. Job application and general inquiry information that does not result in employment or engagement is retained only as long as reasonably needed to evaluate the inquiry, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or delete your personal information, subject to our legal and recordkeeping obligations (for example, we may need to retain certain payroll records even after a deletion request). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12 below. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site and our services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. All caregiver applicants and staff members must be at least 18 years old.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site or staff portal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise any of the rights described above, contact us at privacy@veryreally.com.
